Common room booking plan
Residents of a student hall see when the common room is free and book it without an account — edits happen through a secret link. One Node process, no external services.
The problem
A student hall has a common room and no reliable way to find out whether it is free. Notes on the door get lost, group chats scroll away, and nobody signs up for an account to book one room.
The solution
An occupancy plan that works without signing in. You see the slots, enter your name and a time, and get a secret link. Whoever holds the link can change or delete their own entry — a room plan needs no more access control than that, and every additional hurdle would have meant notes back on the door.
How it is built
SvelteKit with Svelte 5, SQLite through Drizzle. A single Node process, no external services, no database on someone else’s servers. State lives entirely in the URL, so a link to a particular week can be shared.
